No More Elves!

Ah yes, no more elves in my life... I also found a nickel in the dryer this afternoon! Today's going to be great day!
Anywho, I bring up this title for two reasons. The Adeptus Mechanicus FanDex I'm working on is the first reason. I know there are some people watching the updates on this project, which is really great. It means there's a want for it. And with how little advertising I'm doing for it so far, coupled with the large amount of hits and followers I'm getting without putting out even a sample page yet makes me feel just dandy. Like I'm back in school where I'd have 37 1/2 people follow me around throughout the day (one of them was a midget.) But I'm getting off track. For those of you following the updates you may have noticed the work time being put into the FanDex is getting a little more thin than it used to be, and I can chalk this up to three problems.

Adios Eldar

After our weekly game night, I've decided to sell off my Eldar army. I've debated the idea for quite a while. My army setup isn't set up to win any tourneys, I don't have a Seer Council or a lot of mech. I just kept buying 1 of everything. I win some and lose some, but the reason I've been dancing around the idea of getting rid of them is simply a matter stats and playstyle.

I started writing out the details to my reasoning for disliking the Eldar, but I can't really imagine anyone who reads this will care. So let me get to the point.

After giving friends a few days, I'm now offering the army up to the blog community. If I don't get any offers within the next week (I'll say until Dec 1st,) it's going up on eBay. My army is great for a start army and comes out to 1650 points without upgrades and ~2100 points with realistic upgrades.

Here is what I have:

Eldrad on the Runway

Hello hello. This is something I wanted to post once finished, but I'm too eager to share. Eldrad, the Farseer of Farseers is one of my favorite characters in the fluff of 40k. And even though he's not alive; one of my favorite models to field. To this, I felt I owed the model something special before I even ordered it. I really couldn't figure out what I wanted to do, exactly, until I got him on order from my local Table Top store.

Now, like you, I typically hate those damn pewter models with all the "silly string" left on them that I have to clip and shave off.

If Someone Could Turn on that Light, I Can't Seer

Greetings, hello and other words. Today, I need YOUR help. No, not you, you. The other guy, to the left. No, my left. Yeah, him. Or her, I can't tell. Today I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to on this big thingy called the intarwebz.

Everywhere I go I see mention of this unit for Eldar that is a very powerful option. But, I can't find its make-up or rules anywhere in my codex. The name is Seer Council, somehow allowing me to bring Eldrad, 3 Farseers and 5 Warlocks. More Farseers would be just dandy to me, but this seems like cheating or like playing Space Wolves (same thing.)

My Must-Have Units

Hello and welcome back. Today I have something in no way related to modeling or magnets, I promise. Today I'm going to discuss my must-have unit for both of my armies. This will be the unit I can't help but take. Sometimes working my armies around this unit just so they can come.

My first army that I bought was the Ultramarines, so I'll start with them.

Magnetize Your Hoveration..ism...ocity..

Three posts in 1 day? Yes, I'm that bored.

Still can't find my USB cable, so I've re-shot my Hover tank conversion and support. First, we'll look at the Wave Serpent and its turret on top. This thing, if left as GW instructions advise, will annoy someone to the point of them creating a religion, gaining the trust of a large portion of high school graduates and convincing them to commit mass suicide along his/her side. And that's just a waste of time... Instead, let's find a quick solution to this nice looking turret.

Destroy All Fire Prisms!... Free Soda For All Fire Prisms!

I've done a tiny rant on the Fire Prism in a previous post. In the 3 games I rolled with one it either lost its Prism or got blown to smithereens on the first turn. And when it did fire, it always wiffed. Both scenarios are just luck based, but I'm allowed to bitch and moan if I want to. So I did. A lot. Like, a lot a lot. I've gotten hate mail, people. Anywho, my bitching might be over starting today:

Choices with Assaulting and Avenging

The magnets are back, this time using the teeny tiny 1/16" by 1/32" discs. These ridiculously small magnets are well built for giving the smaller plastic miniatures the options you'd like to give them rather than having to buy multiple models or taking apart and re-gluing them.

My prime example: Eldar Dire Avenger Exarch. This dude gets 4 sets of options for weapons, and while I never saw the point in not bringing a Shimmer Shield (*jazz hands*), my bits box is getting pretty bloated these days and I'm doing all I can to fight the constant stream of plastic nick-nacks flowing into it. So, here's what the Exarch has for toys other than the Avenger Shuriken Catapult - 2x Avenger Shuriken Catapult, Diresword/Shuriken Pistol or Power Weapon/Shimmershield:

Clowns, Castration and Goodie Bags

I just want to start off by saying that since I purchased my first Eldar unit about 2 months ago, I've had issues controlling the Eldar correctly in combat. I was getting extremely frustrated with how little I was contributing to team games and how quickly I'd find myself with little hope during solo-play. But, today I report my first victory with them, wishing I had a BatRep to go along with it. Sadly, I do not. But I will try and provide a briefing of the game.

This was a team battle; Tau/Eldar vs IG/Chaos (don't ask me how Chaos persuaded IG to join them for the day, I hear they're offering goodie bags.) Capture and Control, 2000 points per team.

I held my 10 Pathfinders in a corner, being a ruined building. Behind them, 10 Guardians with a Bright Lance and a Farseer with Guide to make it twin linked. My Tau partner left his Crisis Suit, Stealth Suit Squad and Hammerhead with me as well.
